Hello dear subscribers,
I did not fall off the map though I did travel the world in the last couple months and also completed a move into a new home. As you well know life has a way of throwing us curve balls and when we are ready, the outcome is always absolutely wonderful. I had to let go certain tasks and focus on my home and family for this move and now that we are once again settled into an apartment in Ontario and a dream house in Quebec, I am ready to thrive in 2005. Happy New Year to all of you!
Have you written your goals for 2005 yet? If not, today is the day. Why you ask, because achievement is based on the goals that we clearly set. Let me share a short story to make this point. When you think of the great pitchers of yesteryears, does the name Cy Young ring a bell? If you are a sports enthusiast it probably does. There is another great pitcher that few people remember as a pitcher, because he is best known for something else in baseball. In six seasons he won 89 games. In 1918 he pitched 29 2/3 consecutive scoreless innings, a record he maintained for 43 years. In his first season he hit 25 home runs, more homeruns than any player that came before him and he became the greatest name in baseball history. Even though he was a great pitcher and the king of strikeouts, we remember him as the homerun king - Babe Ruth of course. As people we love homeruns in baseball and in life. Babe Ruth never went to bat without thinking homerun. Most people go through life hoping to avoid striking out rather than going into every situation ready to hit a homerun. In 2005 choose to thrive and focus on hitting homeruns with your physical, mental and spiritual health, as well as in your career and relationships. Tap into the power of goal-setting, take concerted action and enjoy the results. Anything you want to be, do or have is at your disposal.
