Communicating With Integrity

"Leadership is ultimately about creating a way for people to contribute to making something extraordinary happen."

The biggest challenge rests with management, the part of the team that communicates regularly with the workers. How can the challenge be met?
  1. Share information openly
  2. Be part of the solution
  3. Ask and encourage questions and communication
  4. Treat workers with dignity
  5. Promote interdependence
Questions to ask yourself:
  • How do you mobilize your people to do extraordinary things for the organization?
  • What values guide your actions as a leader/supervisor?
  • How do you best set an example for others?
  • How do you articulate a vision of the future when things are so unpredictable?
  • How do you improve your ability to inspire others towards a common purpose?
  • How do you create an environment that promotes innovation and minimize the possible negative outcomes of risk?
  • How can you share power and information and still maintain accountability?
  • How can you build a cohesive and spirited team?
  • How can you put more joy and celebration into everyone's efforts?
  • How can you go about improving your leadership?
The most significant contribution leaders make is not merely to the bottom line - it is the long-term development of people and organizations, so they can adapt to change, prosper and grow - contribute to the revitalization of companies, creation of value added products, the renewal of healthy communities, and greater understanding and respect in the world.

We need more exemplary leaders, and we need you more than ever before. Leadership development is self-development, meeting the leadership challenge is a personal and daily challenge for all of us. Even though titles are granted, it's behavior that wins us respect.

We must learn to:
  1. Model the way
  2. Inspire shared vision
  3. Challenge the process
  4. Enable others to act
  5. Encourage the heart
Are you ready to step up to the plate and become that extraordinary person who will make a difference in your organization and the life of many?
