Do you greet each new day with open eyes and a willing heart?

Do you choose to look people in the eyes and see beyond?

Do you greet each new day as a cause for celebration?

Do you remember when you were little and the teacher put a sticker on your homework to signify a job well done?

Imagine if you chose to see the very best in each person that you interact with today and everyday. What would your life be, what impact could you have on the world around you, how could you influence your children and loved ones by being a living example of all things good?

This week I had the pleasure of spending a few hours with a young lady I had met as a patient in my office in the early 80's. For some reason she thought of me weeks ago and decided to "Google" me, after calling my old office and realizing that I no longer was in practice. She shared her life since our last encounter some 20 years ago, from star athlete to the trials and tribulations of illness, pain and discovery. She touched me deeply and the human connection was extraordinary, the expression of unconditional love for another human being who stripped herself of all privacy to be open, experience and learn. I had been a mentor to her and the circle was being completed. The impact you have on other people can never be underestimated. Everything you do and everything you are, can and will leave a mark on others. Choose to make it great.

I wish for you: that you would choose to be open and discover the greatness of the human heart, that you would choose to experience gratitude each moment of everyday for all things large and small that add richness to your life; that you would let go of the notion that everything must be perfect and instead celebrate how perfect you are in this moment - glorious flaws and all; that you would always feel worthy of what your heart longs for; that you would recognize that growing pains are the threshold through which we must travel to experience lasting joy; that you would choose to start splashing through life's mud puddles instead of just tiptoeing around them; that you would speak the truth from your heart beginning today, rather than allow your words to get tangled in your head; that you could rest upon your deathbed, with a smile from ear to ear, uttering, "if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change in same."

I wish you peace and the experience of unconditional love.
